It was a complete performance, says Kohli
Captain Virat Kohli termed his group's win over the West Indies in the main Test a "complete execution" and held exceptional acclaim for Mohammed Shami, who denoted his arrival to the five-day position after a long damage cutback with four first-innings wickets.
India stamped their power as Ravichandran Ashwin returned amazing figures of 7/83 to bowl out the West Indies for 231 and indent up a record innings and 92-run win on Monday.
"Stunning, I didn't realize that," Kohli said when informed this was India's greatest win outside Asia, before including, "Just feels great to get a win on the board, constantly great to begin well. Great planning time, for three weeks. Everybody was energized, we'd enough practice. It was a finished execution."
Kohli underlined on the need to score runs rapidly to go for a win.
"Scoring wasn't simple, at first West Indies knocked down some pins well. A few their bowlers surged us, 70-odd for 2 with five batsmen, needed to assume liability.
