Udta Punjab earns over Rs. 33 crore

Chief Abhishek Chaubey's wrongdoing dramatization Udta Punjab has printed Rs. 33.80 crore in its opening weekend. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. 

The film discharged on June 17 and gathered Rs. 10.05 crore on the opening day. On Saturday and Sunday, Rs. 11.25 crore and Rs. 12.50 crore were the day by day accumulations individually. 

In the keep running up to the discharge, the film fell into issue with the Central Board of Film Certification. 

The edit board initially recommended upwards of 89 cuts in the film. Later, the Revising Committee sliced it to 13. 

In any case, the creators moved the Bombay High Court anwich overruled the CBFC-suggested cuts and cleared it for discharge with only one cut, an "A" declaration, and three disclaimers. 

Handling a danger 

The motion picture tackles the issue of substance misuse in Punjab through the stories of a high-on-medications rock star (Shahid Kapoor), a vagrant (Alia Bhatt), a specialist (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and a policeman (Diljit Dosanjh).
